Digital TV Europe announced the winners of the Euro50 awards

Digital TV Europe announced the winners of the Euro50 awards at the Cable Congress gala dinner last night. The Euro50 awards are given in recognition of outstanding achievement in the broadband and Pay-tv industry in the EMEA region. There were seven award categories in total and all the nominees were selected from the 2010 edition of the Euro50.

The winners are:

Technology Leader, in recognition of an outstanding individual technologist’s contribution to the pay-TV or broadband industry:

Martin Kull, CTO, Com Hem

New Media Innovator, in recognition of the outstanding achievements of an individual working in a non-traditional audiovisual content delivery channel such as online, mobile or interactive TV:

Anders Blauenfeldt, VP product development, YouSee

Content Executive, for a leading executive of a channel provider or content aggregator in recognition of outstanding success in his or her field:

Paul Robinson, CEO, KidsCo

Marketer of the Year, in recognition of an exceptional or innovative campaign by a service provider, operator or content provider:

Dimitar Radev, former CMO, Blizoo

Industry Leader, in recognition of the achievements of the CEO, chairman, COO or CFO of a major service provider or platform operator that has achieved an outstanding operational or financial success or innovation:

Mike Fries, CEO, Liberty Global

The Digital TV Europe award, in recognition of an exceptional individual’s contribution to the pay-TV or broadband industry identified by the editorial team of Digital TV Europe, went to Mike Darcey, COO, BSkyB

And in recognition of his exceptional achievements and contribution to the success of the pay-TV industry over the course of his career, the Lifetime Achievement award was presented to UPC’s Gene Musselman.
