“We chose ADB for our TV Services because of its proven ability to deliver high quality products whilst keeping the simplicity of TV as it should be”, says Nico Weymaere, CTO at VOO. “Additionally, having Carbo Advanced integrated in the box allows us to enrich our subscribers’ experience over time without having to replace the hardware”.
Carbo is a complete portable pay-TV user interface including optimized high definition features and integrated open standard APIs for 3rd party applications. It incorporates an array of options, whilst at the same time delivering a rich TV viewing experience. Its speed, intuitiveness and ease-of-use make it simple for VOO’s subscribers to enjoy all existing services on offer. The Voobox is integrated with the Carbo Advanced software package allowing VOO to implement additional features in the future, such as:
“This agreement with VOO represents a very important milestone that we are proud of”, comments Krzysztof Bilinski, Executive VP, General Manager Broadcast Division at ADB. “From now on VOO will only provide to their customers products that support high definition digital television. Having chosen the Carbo Advanced solution, VOO can add future features via an over-the-air upgrade without having to change the simple and intuitive user interface that consumers will have come to get used to”.
The Voobox was launched in Belgium at the end of 2011.
VOO is the leading provider of broadband cable services in the southern part of Belgium. VOO provides analogue and digital cable television, including premium TV under brand name BeTV, high speed internet at speeds of 50Mbps (soon 100Mbps), and digital telephony services, primarily to residential customers in Wallonia and Brussels.
