Dale Barnes is responsible for making the most of Virgin Media’s unique fibre optic network and bringing new technologies and services to market. Dale played a key role in launching Virgin Media’s ultrafast 50Mb and 100Mb broadband services and is currently exploring broadband speeds of up to 1.5 Gb/s. He is also heavily involved in how all platforms are evolving as convergence drives behaviour for both consumers and businesses. Dale has been with the company for over 15 years, joining NTL which became Virgin Media in 2007. During his time with Virgin Media, Dale has explored a range of technologies including some of the first cable modems, DSL, High Definition TV, 3D, Video On Demand and DOCSIS 3.0. Dale also holds an MA in education and began his career with the US Air Force, working on wireless technologies and data systems.
